Talk Noam Chomsky is one of the foremost outspoken critics of U.S. foreign policy and the media. Chomsky is a world-renowned linguistics scholar, foreign policy analyst, radical political philosopher, professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and author of over 30 books, including 9-11, Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media, Necessary Illusions: Thought Control in Democratic Societies, The New Military Humanism, and What Uncle Sam Really Wants. In this talk, Chomsky comments on the connections between the U.S. military occupation of Iraq and the war on terrorism. He describes the campaign against terror as a pretext for instituting an extreme right-wing political agenda. Chomsky expresses his concern about the unbridled use of American power in the world and U.S. foreign policy objectives to gain control over Middle East oil, "the greatest material prize in world history."
